I don’t recommend coconut oil as eye cream. I had a light crease under my eye yesterday.. After one night of this mixture under eye, it’s deep and huge. It’s kind of a disaster. I’m guessing but the extreme greasiness on such delicate skin might cause wrinkles. I thought it couldn’t hurt to try something once.–It did.

Tomatoes are highly effective for treating dark circles. You can prepare a mixture using 1 teaspoon of fresh tomato juice, ½ teaspoon of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric and gram flour (besan). Put down that salt shaker! Water will always find its way from parts of your body that are low in sodium to those that have the most. The area around your eyes is a prime example. That’s why a dinner loaded with salt often results in morning-after puffiness.
While it’s hard to totally avoid allergens, reduce your exposure and prevent eye puffiness by staying indoors as much as possible—especially in fall and spring, when trees and plants release more pollen and symptoms can get worse. I’m still figuring out what exactly does and does not make me have a weird allergic reaction under my eyes. @serenesurface– I don’t think that’s a good idea. I tried it before. I used my facial cream under my eyes and it caused little white spots under my eyes. I found out later that the skin under our eyes is very thin and delicate. The rest of our face is not like that. So creams that work for our face, won’t work for the area around our eyes. Moreover, the skin under the eyes tend to have more issues like wrinkles, puffiness and dark spots. So it needs special care and it needs a special cream to take care of those problems.
The aging of skin isn’t something that we can know when to expect. It will happen but it will not target all people the same nor at the same time. With that being said, it is only logical that you use it when you see bad changes on your skin, in this case, the skin around your eyes.
There’s a third form of pink eye that can cause eye puffiness too: allergy-related pink eye, which tends to affect both eyes at the same time and typically causes watery discharge and itching in the corners of your eyes. If you also experience a runny nose or sneezing when you have pink eye, it’s probably allergy-related, says Dr. Manusis.
If you are drinking water late in the day your body may not have time to flush it out before bedtime, resulting in morning puffiness. This should resolve itself in a few hours. Otherwise you are probably retaining water due to consuming too much salt. Try to reduce your sodium intake.
There are plenty of eye cream ingredients that claim to improve blood circulation (like caffeine) or blood coagulation (like Vitamin K) which will theoretically reduce puffiness and dark circles.
